The lanes separate the competition lanes for swimmers and according to international regulations, the first and last 5m of the Moscow course floats are usually red or orange, combined with white balls. The intermediate meters are white, combined with red or orange balls. The special design of the discs allows them to rotate individually. This system breaks up the waves caused by the competitors during a race. The strong wave flow is absorbed faster and more adequately, dispersing the energy produced along the stainless steel wire, so as to improve swimming conditions during training and competitions.
