FACT INFORMATION *
KX Technologies® FACT® Media is made from various adsorbents, which are immobilized by fibrous fibers. Media is produced by the wet layer method, yielding an extremely uniform area where high levels of very small adsorbents can be effectively immobilized. Smaller fibers produce a larger area of associated pores than the given pore size. The resulting structure gives lower overall pressure drop and higher impurity capacity. Unlike standard cellulose fibers having a fiber diameter between 15 and 30 microns, the KX® FACT® core fibers can be as small as 50 nanometers in diameter, that is, 200 times smaller. So since FACT®media filters have fibrils (the fibers take longer to form fibrils), we can say that the FACT® fibrils diameter is 200 times smaller than conventional cellulose fibers. Each microfibre has a diameter of 50 nanometers, that is, 0.05 microns. These fibers stack together and form a fiber network, which we call the "FACT® sheet". FACT sheets are put together to form a layer. In common terminology a FACT® layer is called “FACT® media”. The filtering layer of FACT® layers is 1 micron. The MATRIKX® + HC® filter meets NSF / ANSI 53 specifications for blur and bladder inhibition, including Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Entamoeba and Toxoplasma.
This filter fits into multi-circular shells.
