It is a waterproof portable multi-parameter logging meter that monitors up to 7 different water quality parameters, including 5 measured and 2 calculated. The microprocessor-based multi-sensor detector allows for the measurement of key parameters such as pH, ORP, dissolved oxygen and temperature. The sensor transmits measurements digitally to the meter, where the data points can be displayed and recorded. The use of digital communication allows for noise-free data transfer up to 100 meters of cable length. The complete system is simple to set up and easy to use.

Backlit Graphic LCD Display – The HI98196 features a backlit graphic LCD display with on-screen help and the ability to view up to nine parameters simultaneously. The graphical display allows the use of virtual keys to provide an intuitive user interface.Waterproof Protection – The meter is enclosed in a waterproof housing with an IP67 rating and can withstand immersion in water to a depth of 1 m for up to 30 minutes. The probe is IP68 rated for continuous immersion in water.Quick Connect Digital Sensor – The HI7698196 sensor features a Quick Connect DIN connector that makes a waterproof connection to the meter.Colored Field Replaceable Sensors – Sensor replacement is quick and easy with field replaceable screw plugs that are color-coded for easy sensor port identification.Automatic Sensor Recognition – The sensor and meter automatically recognize connected sensors. Any unused ports on the sensor will not display the parameter nor can they be configured. Automatic Temperature Compensation – The built-in temperature sensor allows for automatic temperature compensation of pH and conductivity measurements. Automatic Barometric Pressure Compensation – The meter features a built-in barometer with user-selectable units for dissolved oxygen pressure compensation. Standard or Quick Calibration – Quick Calibration provides quick one-point calibration for pH and conductivity. Standard pH calibration options are available for up to three-point calibration from a choice of five standard buffers and one custom buffer. Conductivity calibration is a single point from six standard options or a custom standard. GLP Data – The HI98196 includes a GLP feature that allows users to view calibration data and calibration expiration information with the push of a button. Calibration data includes date, time, buffers/standards used for calibration, and slope characteristics. Data Logging – The HI98196 allows users to store up to 45,000 continuous or log-on-demand samples with logging intervals from one second to three hours. Intuitive Keypad – The mounted rubber keypad features dedicated keys for power, backlight, up/down arrows, help, and alphanumeric characters. The meter also features two virtual programming keys that navigate the user through configuring each parameter, setting up the meter, and logging data. The interface is intuitive for any user’s experience level. Dedicated Help Key – Context-sensitive help is always available via a dedicated “HELP” key. Clear learning messages and instructions are provided on the display to quickly and easily guide users through setup and calibration. The help information displayed is relevant to the setting/selection being viewed. Computer Connectivity – Recorded data can be transferred to a Windows-compatible computer with the included HI920015 micro USB cable and HI9298194 software. Long Battery Life – The meter display has a battery icon to indicate remaining power. The meter uses four 1.5V AA batteries that provide up to 360 hours of battery life. Durable Thermoformed Carrying Case – The HI98196 meter, sensor, and all accessories are supplied in a durable carrying case designed to provide years of use. The interior compartment of the carrying case is thermoformed to securely hold and protect all components.
